Fundraising/Grant Writing

Hale has worked with myriad national foundations, corporations securing millions of dollars in support for program growth.   She has met with hundreds of national funders and traveled extensively to make personal introductions to funders for causes she has championed.  This has resulted in the creation of thousands of proposals on behalf of important causes.   These included the Department of Education, The Department of Labor, and CDC. And the Department of Health and Human services.  Foundations included The Ford Foundation, the DeWitt Wallace Reader’s Digest Fund, the W.K Kellogg Foundation, Annenberg Foundation, JC Penney, Prudential, American Honda and many more.  Accomplishments included: 

• Raising millions of dollars to launch new music education programs, resulting in creation of a new nonprofit

• Creation of an interactive website with seed funding from National Endowment of the Arts to encourage careers in string teaching

• Development of a nonprofit leadership program with the Packard Foundation

• Management of an earmark of funding if $1 million per year for  nonprofit in workforce development

• Development of a national program in community development that focused on service-learning
